TEMPE

Tempe, located within the Phoenix metropolitan area, consists of approximately 40.19 square miles. Residents enjoy close access to multiple freeways and two major airports. Data from the Census projected its 2022 population was 180,587 residents. The median household income is $76,218. From an educational standpoint, the percentage of adults that are 25 years + 46.5% have a bachelor’s degree or more. Tempe’s major employers include Arizona State University, State Farm Insurance, Salt River Project, Wells Fargo, and Honeywell.

There is plenty to do inside Tempe’s city limits. The City of Tempe offers over 50 parks including Rio Salado and Beach Park on both sides of Tempe Town Lake, Tempe Sports Complex, and Kiwanis Park featuring one of Tempe’s fishing lakes. Soak up the sun during Spring Training at Tempe Diablo Stadium, home to the Anaheim Angels spring training. Tempe boasts 175 miles of bikeways, including bike lanes, desert trails and canal paths. Golfers will enjoy the Ken McDonald, Rolling Hills and Shalimar golf courses.  Tempe Marketplace, one of many shopping areas, offers an open-air shopping and dining experience. Arizona State University (ASU) is central to a vibrant area near Mill Avenue, complete with restaurants and shops. A short distance away is ASU’s Gammage Auditorium, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, where Broadway theater attracts audiences across the metropolitan area.

Arizona State University (ASU), one of three accredited Universities in Arizona, has almost 55,000 students at its Tempe campus and over 5400 faculty, many that work at the Tempe campus. ASU offers 350 undergraduate programs and 450 graduate degree and certificate programs. Tempe has two public elementary and middle school districts: Tempe Elementary and Kyrene Schools. Tempe Union High School has six high schools in Tempe and services Ahwatukee Foothills. There are also charter schools and private schools available.

Tempe Arizona real estate is as diverse as its residents.
