Gilbert, located within the Phoenix metropolitan area, consists of nearly 69 square miles and is the fifth-largest municipality in Arizona. Residents enjoy close access to multiple freeways and two major airports. Data from the Census of 2020 projected its population was almost 268,000 residents with 93,230 housing units. Shoppers will enjoy multiple shopping areas including Crossroads Town Centre and San Tan Village which is an open-air shopping and dining area. The Heritage District is Gilbert’s vibrant downtown area that includes local dining establishments and shops. And, for theater, Hale Theater Arizona is a 350-seat theater-in-the-round that entertains with family-friendly plays utilizing local talent. 

Gilbert Public Schools offers children education from kindergarten through high school. Additionally, Gilbert’s educational options include a variety of charter and private schools.  Its schools are highly rated and well-funded for extracurricular activities. The Chandler-Gilbert Community College Williams Campus is located in Gilbert, with the Pecos Campus in Chandler and Arizona State University’s Tempe Campus are close by.
